Nkosi Tata Madiba

Today as the memorial of our great father Nelson Mandela takes place in Jhb, I am left with feelings of gratitude and honor for all that he has done for this Nation! Such a wonderful man and very incredible to have lived such oppression and yet express forgiveness! He chose not to give up so we could be free! He saw no barrier, no skin color, no religion, no race instead he saw people, children, mothers, fathers, families that want to be FREE! Thank you Madiba you were and always be our Hero! You duty has been served and you deserve a heavenly Rest, my respect to your family and South Africa as a whole!

Wise words Madiba left behind that he as a nation should reflect on and carry on his legacy:

“If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner.” Long Walk to Freedom

“Death is something inevitable. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace. I believe I have made that effort and that is, therefore, why I will sleep for the eternity.” – From an interview for the documentary Mandela, 1994

“Never, never and never again shall it be that this beautiful land will again experience the oppression of one by another…”

“I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons will live together in harmony with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for, and to see realised. But my Lord, if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.”
